Mercy Hospital (Coon Rapids, Minn.). In January, Mercy Hospital and Fridley, Minn.-based Unity Hospital combined in a “one hospital, two campuses” strategy under the name Mercy Hospital. Both hospitals provide medical and surgical services, and Mercy Hospital’s cardiology department has received multiple honors in recent years. The Society of Thoracic Surgeons recognized Mercy Hospital, a member of Allina Health, as one of the top 50 heart-bypass surgery programs in the U.S. and in 2017 CareChex named the hospital No. 2 in Minnesota for heart surgery. Mercy Hospital’s highly skilled surgeons perform around 450 open heart surgeries per year.
