Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University (St. Louis). More than 2,000 patients are seen each month at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University Heart & Vascular Center. Since Barnes-Jewish established its heart transplant program in 1985, cardiac surgeons have transplanted more than 600 hearts with outcomes that meet or exceed national averages. For 2016-17, U.S. News & World Report ranked Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University as No. 14 in the nation for adult cardiology and heart surgery.
