With a team of more than 170 physicians, nurses and therapists, UPMC’s Heart and Vascular Institute offers general and subspecialty outpatient cardiology services. It was also named one of the best hospitals in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery for 2014-15 by U.S. News & World Report. In 2013, physicians at UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute performed 3,394 total cardiac procedures including 162 transcatheter aortic valve replacements to date. Each year, clinicians at UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute treat more than 17,000 children with congenital heart disease.
