Allen Hospital’s Allen Heart & Vascular Center is the only accredited chest pain center in the Cedar Valley region. Allen Hospital’s heart surgeons have performed more than 4,000 open heart procedures. The hospital offers two cardiac catheterization labs, an electrophysiology lab, two nuclear medicine suites, 24 inpatient rooms and centralized heart monitoring for patients throughout the facility. Allen Hospital was one of 164 hospitals nationwide to receive a Platinum Performance Achievement Award from the American College of Cardiology Foundation in 2012, recognizing it for implementing and following treatment guidelines and meeting a performance standard of 90 percent for specific measures. Additionally, it was named to Truven Health Analytics’ 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in 2014 and is recognized as a Blue Distinction Center+.
