Chandler Hospital is home to the region’s only Level I trauma center and Level IV neonatal intensive care unit. In recent years, it underwent a $532 million facelift, which added the trauma center, updated its emergency department and added 128 beds. These improvements have been critical to the hospital’s ability to keep up with demand; discharges increased 88 percent from 2004 to 2015, while case complexity also increased.
