UF Health (Gainesville, Fla.). UF Health Neuromedicine Hospital was designed for neurosurgery patients and includes three neurosurgery ORs, two neurosurgery hybrid interventional ORs and 48 private ICU patient rooms. UF Health also boasts world-class spine and spinal cord surgery services, treating more than 1,000 spine surgery cases at UF Health Shands Hospital. Spine surgery accounts for more than 50 percent of the hospital's neurosurgical practice, which includes minimally invasive spine procedures as well as treatment for spinal tumors and more complex cases. The University of Florida holds a Level 1 trauma center where neurosurgeons perform around 75 surgeries for spinal cord injury patients annually. U.S. News & World Report ranked UF Health Shands Hospital among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for neurology and neurosurgery in 2017-18.
