UC San Diego Health. UC San Diego’s Neurological Institute provides comprehensive treatment for and research on neurological disorders and diseases. The institute includes around 55 physicians who treat a variety of patients, including those with spinal disorders, brain tumors and peripheral nerve disorders. The health system’s spine surgeons offer minimally invasive spine surgeries, including endoscopic techniques, as well as spinal tumor treatment. The Neurological Institute aims to stay at the forefront of treatment, including efforts in November to launch an acoustic neuroma program aimed at treating patients with complex skull base tumors. U.S. News & World Report ranked UC San Diego Health’s UC San Diego Medical Center among the top 50 hospitals in the country for neurology and neurosurgery in 2018.
