Los Alamitos (Calif.) Medical Center. Since its founding in 1968, Los Alamitos Medical Center has grown into a 167-bed acute care facility that houses an interventional stroke center and orthopedics service. Nine neurosurgeons provide care at Los Alamitos, which is ranked No. 4 in California for neurological surgery by CareChex. The Joint Commission has also recognized Los Alamitos’ stroke care with the Primary Stroke Center designation and the American Stroke Association honored the hospital with the Get With The Guidelines Gold+ Performance Achievement Award for Stroke. Los Alamitos has earned the Cigna quality designation for stroke care, and the hospital offers minimally invasive and nonoperative treatment for back and spine conditions.
