Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak (Mich.). More than 700 Beaumont Hospital employees volunteer to run the hospital’s Green Team. Members are tasked with implementing solutions to reduce waste and cultivate a culture of conservation throughout Beaumont Hospital. Some efforts the group has undertaken include ensuring 23 percent of food served at the hospital is local and planting a teaching garden for occupational therapy patients. Beaumont Hospital’s environmental stewardship earned it Practice Greenhealth’s Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award in 2016.
