The neuroscience team at University of Michigan Health System consists of more than 70 neurologists and neurosurgeons who specialize in multiple areas, including brain cancer and tumors, movement disorders and strokes. UMHS boasts a 15-bed neurological intensive care unit as well as a first-of-its-kind in the nation neurointerventional suite that can detect and repair strokes, brain aneurysms and rare conditions. According to U.S. News & World Report's 2015-16 rankings, UMHS is No. 35 in the nation for neurology and neurosurgery. UMHS' spine surgery expertise has also been recognized, as it is a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery.
