Katherine Grichnik, MD. Senior Vice President and CMO of Indian River Medical Center (Vero Beach, Fla.). As the senior vice president and CMO of Indian River Medical Center, Dr. Grichnik oversees a medical staff spanning the hospital’s 60 departments. Clinicians at the 332-bed hospital treat around 57,000 patients each year through the emergency department. Dr. Grichnik joined Indian River Medical Center in 2016 and spent time as chief quality officer before being promoted to her current role. Prior to joining Indian River, Dr. Grichnik led the Center of Education Excellence at Durham, N.C.-based Duke Clinical Research Institute and co-founded the Duke Patient Safety Center. She also spent time as the director of research, education and quality of anesthesiology as well as vice president for quality and safety at Mednax.
