James E. LaBelle, MD. Corporate Senior Vice President and CMO of Scripps Health (San Diego). Dr. LaBelle assumed his role as CMO of Scripps Health in 2013, responsible for maintaining and expanding the nonprofit health system’s relationship with physicians. He oversees the system’s efforts to engage physicians in managing inpatient and outpatient care, as well as linking hospitals with Scripps’ growing outpatient network. He also leads the four-hospital system’s hospitalist and intensivist programs as well as its medical directorships. An emergency medicine physician by training, Dr. LaBelle spent 25 years in clinical practice and two years as chief of staff for Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas (Calif.).
