The Orthopaedic Hospital at Sentara CarePlex is one of the only dedicated orthopedic hospitals in the Virginia Peninsula area. Opened in 2010, Orthopaedic Hospital provides patients with pre-habilitation services and surgery to rehabilitation and home care services. Six of Sentara’s hospitals — including Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Va. — house OrthoJoint Centers, which are dedicated to hip and knee joint replacement surgeries. Sentara Leigh Hospital is a Blue Distinction Center for hip and knee replacements and was recognized by CareChex as a top quality hospital for orthopedic surgery this year.
