NewYork-Presbyterian’s orthopedic program combines surgical expertise with clinical and basic scientific research, and it was named one of the top 50 hospitals for orthopedics in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-2015. It offers orthopedic services at both its Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center through Columbia Orthopaedics and Weill Cornell Orthopaedics. The hospital also includes the Hand & Microvascular Service, which was established in 1949. Hand surgeons treat approximately 5,000 patients on an outpatient basis each year and perform 1,000 operations annually. In 2013, NewYork Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center received the Joint Replacement Excellence Award from Healthgrades.
