The hospital includes one of the most widely respected orthopedics programs for children in country. U.S. News & World Report ranked Nemours No. 6 in pediatric orthopedics in the nation for 2014-15. The hospital includes a Spine & Scoliosis Center as well as a Center for Sports Medicine, which includes an aquatic therapy center. In addition to providing a wide array of clinical orthopedic services, Nemours has a rich history of orthopedic research and innovation. The Wilmington brace, a type of spine brace used to treat scoliosis in children, was designed at the hospital and is now used worldwide. The hospital is currently developing a center for neuro-orthopedics.
