Orthopedics is one of the original specialty services organized at Johns Hopkins. The hospital has trained orthopedic surgeons for nearly 100 years — the first orthopedic department resident graduated in 1915. Today, the hospital is home to one of the most highly regarded orthopedic programs in the country. U.S. News & World Report named it one of the top 50 hospitals in the country for orthopedics for 2014-15. Johns Hopkins offers numerous clinical services and educational opportunities for physicians, such as residency programs and fellowships.
