NYU Langone Medical Center (New York City). NYU Langone Medical Center's Perlmutter Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated facility that includes more than 150 cancer specialists. In 2016, Perlmutter experienced significant growth, reporting more than 5,643 new patients and 321,000 patient encounters at outpatient sites. Perlmutter also increased the number of interventional clinical trials available to patients by around 50 percent, opening 143 clinical trials in 2016 with $90 million in cancer-related extramural research funding. U.S. News & World Report ranked NYU Langone Medical Center among the top hospitals for cancer care in the U.S. for 2017-18.
