UAB Hospital (Birmingham, Ala). UAB Hospital, a Level I trauma facility, boasts some of the top medical programs in America. The 1,157-bed hospital, among the 20 largest in the nation, includes UAB Heart and Vascular Center, a Level I trauma burn center, ambulatory clinic, rehabilitation center and psychiatric center, among other sites of care.
Established in 1945, UAB Hospital serves as the teaching hospital for the University of Alabama School of Medicine. UAB Health System, of which UAB Hospital is the flagship facility, has been designated as a Most Wired hospital by Hospitals & Health Networks multiple times. In 2015, 391 physicians at UAB Medicine were named to the Best Doctors in America list.
