The hospital is a Blue Distinction Center for Complex & Rare Cancers for eight cancer types and received a “high performing” national ranking for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report for 2016-17. The cancer center recently named a new clinical director, Manuel Hidalgo, MD, PhD, a pancreatic cancer specialist who now oversees BIDMC clinical cancer programs.
