Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center | 100 Hospital and Health Systems with Great Neurosurgery and Spine Programs 2016

Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (Los Angeles). UCLA Medical Center's department of neurology was established in the 1950s and has grown to include more than 100 faculty members. The 520-bed teaching hospital heralds a 26-bed neurointensive care unit, the only neuro ICU in the world to house a 3 Tesla MRI scanner and a CT-PET instrument, allowing physicians to observe traumatic brain injury and cerebral hemorrhage. U.S. News & World Report included UCLA Medical Center in its 2016-17 best hospitals for neurology and neurosurgery in the No. 8 spot. CareChex recently ranked the academic medical center No. 1 in California for stroke and neurological care. Beginning in 2015, UCLA Medical Center garnered three Healthgrades awards over three consecutive years: America's 100 Best Hospitals for Stroke Care Award, the Cranial Neurosurgery Excellence Award and the Neurosciences Excellence Award.
