John Halamka, MD. CIO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Boston). In addition to serving as CIO of BIDMC, Dr. Halamka is also a practicing emergency physician and a blogger, writing on “Life as a Healthcare CIO.” He has served as chairman and president of the New England Healthcare Exchange Network and vice chair of the Health IT Standards Committee, and is co-chair of the Massachusetts HIT Advisory Committee. Additionally, Dr. Halamka is a Harvard Medical School professor.
