Alan Smith. Senior Vice President and CIO of Capella Healthcare. Mr. Smith joined Capella, one of the largest for-profit health systems in the U.S., in May 2011. Previously, he was vice president of applications and interim CIO of Vanguard Health System in Nashville. Mr. Smith has been involved with several professional organizations, including chairing the HIT Task Force of the Federation of American Hospitals. He earned a master’s of public health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
