Scottsdale (Ariz.) Healthcare Shea Medical Center. Established in 1984 as a small hospital near Loop 101 and Shea Boulevard outside Scottsdale, Shea Medical Center has grown to become a reliable provider of care and medical research.

Scottsdale-factsU.S. News & World Report ranked Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center as the No. 3 hospital in Arizona and as one of the top 50 hospitals in the country for gastroenterology and GI surgery. The hospital has also received Magnet designation for nursing excellence, and in 2013, Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center earned an "A" grade from The Leapfrog Group for patient safety.

Recently, the hospital celebrated some accomplishments that help further set it apart. For instance, after analyzing Medicare patients' outcomes, CMS rated Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center as the only Phoenix-area hospital and one of the top 97 hospitals nationwide for joint replacement procedures. The hospital's parent, Scottsdale Healthcare, also launched a unique critical care and emergency trauma for U.S. Air Force nurses. The program, one of two in the country, is the only one of its kind at a civilian hospital.
