St. David’s Medical Center (Austin, Texas). Opened in 1924, St. David’s Medical Center includes a 24-hour emergency department as well as the full-service St. David’s Rehabilitation Center. The hospital is a primary stroke center certified by The Joint Commission and the Texas Department of State Health Services’ Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification. Truven Health Analytics named St. David’s Medical Center among the 100 Top Hospitals in 2017 for the eighth consecutive year. St. David’s Medical Center’s three locations, including the Heart Hospital of Austin and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, had a total of 607 beds and 26,476 admissions in 2016.
