Hill Country Memorial Hospital (Fredericksburg, Texas). When Hill Country Memorial opened in 1971, more than 5,000 people arrived to see the new facility. The communal interest was largely due to the fact that 93 percent of county residents made some level of financial commitment to the project. The hospital has grown into an 86-bed facility equipped with an intensive care unit, single patient rooms and an indoor community fitness and therapy pool. In 2016, Truven Health Analytics recognized Hill Country Memorial as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation.
