Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast (Miramar Beach, Fla.). Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast opened to patients in January 2003 with 50 beds and is a member of St. Louis-based Ascension Health. In June 2014, SHHEC announced a $30 million expansion of facilities to increase capacity for inpatient, maternity, emergency and pediatric services. The hospital has been recognized in several ways for general excellence. For instance, Truven Health Analytics has named SHHEC to its list of 100 Top Hospitals each year since 2012, and the hospital has earned multiple awards from Healthgrades recently, including the America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery Award and the America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery Award this year.
