University Hospitals (Cleveland). University Hospitals operates three key ACOs: a Medicare Shared Savings Program ACO, a pediatric ACO and an employee ACO. The pediatric ACO, Rainbow Care Connection, was one of the first in the United States. Additionally, UH — whose ACOs serve more than 270,000 beneficiaries — has launched numerous ACOs with commercial payers such as Aetna and UnitedHealthcare. In June 2015, University Hospitals signed an ACO agreement with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield for Medicare Advantage members in northeast Ohio, which marked its 10th accountable care program.
