Employment in growth in the healthcare sector will increase much more rapidly than the average for all jobs by 2024, according to predictions from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Additionally, many of the highest-paying jobs are among the best jobs in the healthcare industry, according to U.S. News & World Report.

As part of its annual ranking of "The 100 Best Jobs," U.S. News & World Report derived a list of the "25 Best Health Care Jobs" in 2016.

No. 1 — Orthodontist

No. 2 — Dentist

No. 3 — Nurse anesthetist

No. 4 — Physician assistant

No. 5 — Nurse practitioner

No. 6 — Psychiatrist

No. 7 — Pediatrician

No. 8 — Anesthesiologist

No. 9 — Obstetrician and gynecologist

No. 9 — Oral and maxillofacial surgeon

No. 11 — Optometrist

No. 12 — Physical therapist

No. 13 — Podiatrist

No. 14 — Surgeon

No. 15 — Physician

No. 16 — Registered nurse
