Cleveland Clinic is accepting applications for its 2016 Nursing Associate Externship, a 10-week program offered throughout the summer months to nursing students who have completed their junior year and are entering their senior year in a BSN program.

Students will be hired as a per diem nurse associate extern and work two eight-hour shifts per week and two 12-hour shifts per week following the nurse mentor's schedule. Participants will have the opportunity to work in various nursing specialties such as medical-surgical, critical care, heart and vascular, neonatal intensive care, labor and delivery, behavioral health and operating room nursing. Students can also observe primary care, care coordination, telehealth nursing and home healthcare.

The program will run in two different cohorts: The first program spanning from May 16 to July 24, and the second from June 6 to Aug. 12. At the end of the program, students will have the option of working per diem until they return to school or throughout their senior year.
