4 latest FDA approvals

Here are four drugs and medical devices approved by the Food and Drug Administration this week.

1. Amgen's drug Parsabiv is intended to treat secondary hyperhythroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease who are undergoing dialysis. 

2. The Seeker System is a screening test designed to detect four metabolic disorders in newborns.

3.  Bristol-Myers Squibb's best-selling cancer drug Opdivo can now be used to treat urothelial carcinoma — the most common type of bladder cancer.

4. Emflaza is intended to treat Duchenne's muscular dystrophy, a rare degenerative condition that causes muscle weakness, loss of movement and eventually death.
