CMS extends comment deadline for hospital star rating system

CMS has extended the deadline for comments on its proposed star rating system for overall hospital-level quality to Sept. 14.

The initial deadline was Aug. 17.

In April, CMS added star ratings for consumer assessment survey measures to Hospital Compare and wants to add overall star ratings next year.
