8 hospitals in Missouri with top nurse-patient communication scores

The following hospitals in Missouri received top marks on patients' HCAHPS surveys in the category of nurse communication.

At least 83 percent of patients at these eight hospitals responded on their surveys that nurses always communicated well. In Missouri, the average is 80 percent, the same as the national average.

The figures are reported on CMS' Hospital Compare website and represent HCHAPS scores collected from April 2015 through March 2016.

Note: Hospitals with fewer than 100 completed surveys were excluded from consideration for this list.

Black River Community Medical Center (Poplar Bluff) — 88 percent

Cox Monett Hospital — 85 percent

SSM Health St. Francis Hospital-Maryville — 83 percent

St. Luke's Hospital (Chesterfield) — 83 percent

Saint Francis Medical Center (Cape Girardeau) — 83 percent

Wright Memorial Hospital (Trenton) — 83 percent

Mercy Hospital Aurora — 83 percent

Hedrick Medical Center (Chillicothe) — 83 percent
