6 Tennessee hospitals with the cleanest rooms, as reported by patients

The following is a list of hospitals in Tennessee for which 80 percent or more of patients reported that their room and bathroom were "always" clean on their HCAHPS surveys.

Data were pulled from CMS' Hospital Compare and are from April 2014 through March 2015, the most recent data available.

For reference, Tennessee's average rate of patients reporting their room and bathroom were "always" clean is 73 percent. The national average rate is 74 percent.

Note: Hospitals with insufficient data, such as having fewer than 100 completed surveys, were excluded.

1. Wellmont Hawkins County Memorial Hospital (Rogersville) — 93 percent

2. Jellico (Tenn.) Community Hospital — 90 percent

3. Sycamore Shoals Hospital (Elizabethton) — 81 percent

4. Maury Regional Hospital (Columbia) — 81 percent

5. United Regional Medical Center (Manchester) — 80 percent *this hospital has since closed

6. Roane Medical Center (Harriman) — 80 percent
