While remaining independent entities, the medical centers will share information systems, as well as business and clinical services, thereby creating a kind of regional accountable care organization. They will be equal partners and owners in an affiliation that seeks to provide better medical service delivery to patients. Providers in the central Georgia region can affiliate with the Central Georgia Health System and Tift Regional Medical center partnership and participate in a shared-savings model.
The medial centers are also considering joint development of a patient-centered medical home.
