Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) is pleased to announce Tammie Chavez Stump, RN, as the new Chief Executive Officer for Union County General Hospital of Clayton, New Mexico, effective today, June 16, 2017.
Stump has served as Chief Operations Officer/Chief Nursing Officer/Compliance Officer since joining the hospital in March of 2015.
Union County General Hospital has been under management by Community Hospital Consulting, the management and consulting arm of CHC, since September of 2014. The full-service, 25-bed critical access hospital, serves Union County and surrounding areas.
While serving as COO/CNO/Compliance Officer, Stump has focused on delivering best-in-class healthcare that makes a difference. She provided clinical, operational and financial leadership for service line growth, expense reduction, quality improvement and physician recruitment, and was instrumental in the developing the hospital’s Rural Health Clinic.
Before coming to Union County General Hospital, Stump served through CHC as Operations Officer and Interim CNO for Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, N.M. During her prior years with Community Health Systems’ Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, Roswell, N.M., she held positions as Director of Quality/Risk Management and Charge Nurse Medical Unit, and developed a passion for operations and clinical leadership.
Stump holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern New Mexico University, and received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Central New Mexico Community College. She is a Healthcare Accreditation Certified Professional (HACP).
