30 under 30 with their sights set on fixing healthcare

The healthcare startup world is exploding. The barrier to entry is thinning and investors are getting hip to the huge financial opportunity in budding companies. Many of the entrepreneurs at the helm of startups are young, part of an expanding group of startup founders and CEOs who are cutting their teeth in healthcare, an industry fraught with unique challenges, rather than beginning elsewhere and sidestepping into healthcare later on.

Forbes highlighted 30 of these up-and-comers, all of whom are under 30 and already working to change and improve healthcare as we know it.

  1. Aaron Ring and Andrew Kruse, both 29, are cofounders of Ab Initio Biotherapeutics.
  2. Yehia Abugabal, 28, is the founder of the International Cancer Research Center.
  3. Gil Addo, 29, is the cofounder of RubiconMD.
  4. Josh Allen, 29, is vice president of research and development for Oncoceutics.
  5. Dhananja Jayalath, 26, and Chris Wiebe, 27, are cofounders of Athos.
  6. Jarret Bauer, 29, is cofounder of Health Recovery Solutions.
  7. Brian Fiske, 29, is senior associate of Flagship VentureLabs.
  8. Mugdha Gokhale, 29, is a PhD candidate at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill performing drug safety research.
