Methodist South Hospital Names Jay Robinson CEO

Methodist South Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., has named James “Jay” Robinson III as CEO.

Mr. Robinson will be the first on-site full time CEO of the hospital. Until now, Michael Ugwueke has served as the administrator and CEO of Memphis-based Methodist North and South Hospitals. Mr. Ugwueke will continue to have oversight responsibility for both hospitals but will only have direct leadership responsibility as the on-site CEO of Methodist North.

Mr. Robinson served the Veterans Affairs health system for 20 years. He joined in 1992 as a clinical psychologist and moved thorough the VA leadership ranks in Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia before taking on the CEO position at Memphis (Tenn.) VA Medical Center in 2009.
