Johns Hopkins names chief investment officer

Jason T. Perlioni has been appointed vice president of investments and chief investment officer of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, effective July 1.

In this role, Mr. Perlioni will oversee the investment and management of assets for the university and Johns Hopkins Hospital, including a more than $6 billion endowment. He will also manage and evaluate the university's support staff pension plan, retiree health benefit trust and operating cash.

For the past decade, Mr. Perlioni served as chief investment officer of Pritzker Group Asset Management. Prior to joining Pritzker Group Asset Management, Mr. Perlioni served in investment roles at UBS Global Asset Management and at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.

Mr. Perlioni is the university's second chief investment officer. Kathryn Crecelius, who established the university's investment office in 2005, retired last year.
