Former Humana COO joins LifeCare Health Partners as CEO

Plano, Texas-based LifeCare Health Partners tapped former Humana executive Jim Murray to helm the organization.

Here are three things to know about the executive move.

1. Mr. Murray recently announced his retirement from Humana as the insurer’s COO, effective March 31. He previously served as Humana’s CFO and has worked for the insurer for 28 years. 

2. Mr. Murray will become LifeCare’s CEO April 1. 

3. LifeCare also promoted its COO Frank Battafarano to president and COO. Mr. Battafarano has served as LifeCare’s COO since 2014. He joined the organization after working at Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare for 20 years.
