14 recent hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves were announced or took place in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Medina (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital named Wendy Jacobson, the hospital's COO and CNO, interim president and CEO following the resignation of Dolores Horvath.

2. Southwest General Hospital in San Antonio has appointed Colin B. Brooks as CFO.

3. Seton Medical Center Austin, Texas, part of the Austin, Texas-based Seton Healthcare Family system, named Tad Hatton vice president and COO.

4. Concord, Ohio-based Lake Health announced the appointment of John J. Baniewicz, MD, senior vice president and CMO.

5. David Wilson, president of Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Ala., will resign from his post March 27. Mr. Wilson accepted an offer to become CEO of North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

6. Irving, Texas-based CHRISTUS Health appointed Isaac Palmer as CEO of CHRISTUS Health Northern Louisiana in Shreveport.

7. Athens (Ga.) Regional Health System named its interim CEO, Charles Peck, MD, permanent CEO of the regional system and Athens (Ga.) Regional Medical Center, effective March 15.

8. Delores Horvath, president and CEO of Medina, N.Y.-based Orleans Community Health, which runs Medina Memorial Hospital, resigned Feb. 13.

9. Northfield (Minn.) Hospital and Clinics reportedly terminated its vice president of finance and CFO, Timothy Gronseth.

10. Shannon Nachtigal, RN, became vice president and CNO of Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark., after serving as interim CNO.

11. Carlsbad (N.M.) Medical Center named Cathryn Hibbs CEO. Ms. Hibbs began her new role Feb. 9.

12. Robert McGrail, current CFO of West Branch (Mich.) Regional Medical Center, will serve as the hospital's interim CEO until it finalizes an affiliation with another healthcare organization.

13. Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center in Lititz, Pa., part of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, named its administrator, Deborah Willwerth, CEO.

14. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System named UCLA Health System President David Feinberg, MD, as its sixth president and CEO.
