The follow hospital and health system executive moves were announced or made in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.
1. Peter Geier, COO of Columbus-based Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and CEO of OSU Health System, will resign Dec. 1.
2. Mike Biediger, CEO of Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, S.C., will step down from his post in December.
3. Columbus-based OhioHealth appointed Chris Truax as COO of OhioHealth Marion (Ohio) General Hospital and C.J. Miller as president and CEO of Morrow County Hospital, both effective March 1. Mark Brazitis, system vice president of OhioHealth, will retire April 17.
4. Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble, Texas, named Heath Rushing interim CEO.
5. Cabell Huntington (W.Va.) Hospital announced the appointment of Kevin Fowler as president and CEO, following the retirement of Brent Marsteller Jan. 1. At the same time, the hospital also named David "Monte" Ward chief acquisition officer.
6. Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial Healthcare System announced the promotion of David Smith, former CFO of Memorial Regional Hospital, to senior vice president and CFO of Memorial Healthcare System.
7. Peter Bernard, CEO of Bon Secours Virginia, will retire in August after a 15-year tenure as chief.
8. Hancock, Mich.-based Upper Peninsula Health System-Portage named Steve Bishop CFO.
9. Upon the retirement of James J. Xinis, Dean Teague will become president and CEO of Frederick, Md.-based Calvert Health System, which includes Calvert Memorial Hospital and its subsidiaries, effective March 1.
10. Peter Thoreen, CEO of UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, will retire by the end of 2015.
11. Oakland, Calif-based Alameda Health System named Steven Rosenthal, MD, associate CMO at San Leandro (Calif.) Hospital and Donato Stinghen, MD, associate CMO at Alameda (Calif.) Hospital.
12. PrairieStar Health Center in Hutchinson, Kan., named Bryant Anderson CEO, beginning in April.
