Twiage launches at 3 Steward Health System hospitals

Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Twiage, a cloud-based pre-hospital communication solution, has launched its app at three of Boston-based Steward Health System's hospitals, according to the Taunton Daily Gazette.

Taunton, Mass.-based Morton Hospital, Brockton, Mass.-based Good Samaritan Hospital and Fall River, Mass.-based Saint Anne's Hospital have begun using Twiage.

Through the app, paramedics and EMTs can record patient vitals and data on a Twiage cell phone. They're then able to send the information in real-time to hospital emergency rooms, better preparing the ERs for incoming patients in ambulances. The hospitals or health systems — such as Steward — pay Twiage a subscription fee for participation.

Ambulance providers and fire departments near Steward Health's hospitals are also equipped with Twiage phones. Nine local fire departments have been given 30 phones, according to The Herald News.

Before launching at Steward, five other hospitals in Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts and New Jersey were using Twiage's services, according to the Gazette.
