Robert Anthony, a specialist with CMS’ Office of E-Health Standards and Services, discussed the incentive program and Stage 2 during a webinar co-sponsored by CMS and the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management.
While no specific details on the Stage 2 final rule were given, Mr. Anthony did discuss the potential for audit providers to participate in the meaningful use incentive program moving forward, according to the report. What CMS would look for in audits was unclear. According to the report, Mr. Anthony said providers who exhibit substantial noncompliance will be a focus.
