Samsung, Stanford Children's Health to launch 'doctors' offices on wheels': 4 key points

Samsung, Stanford Children's Health in Palo Alto, Calif., and the Children's Health Fund are collaborating to develop a new mobile medical unit, according to a Silicon Valley Business Journal report.

Here are four things to know.

1. The new program, dubbed "doctors' offices on wheels," will provide care to homeless and uninsured patients, aged 10 to 25 years, from San Francisco and San Jose, Calif., according to the report.

2. Samsung will provide the health vans with technology such as its Galaxy tablets and Samsung LED displays.

3. Samsung has donated $3 million to the Children's Health Fund over the past three years.

4. Other technology in the mobile units will include wearables, wireless printers, flat-screen monitors and more.
