ONC policy director Jodi Daniel to leave position

Office of Policy in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Director Jodi Daniel will be leaving her position on Oct. 9, according to a Healthcare Informatics report.

Ms. Daniel has yet to indicate what her next position will be. During her time with the ONC, she helped develop the organization's legal strategies for health IT. She was the first Senior Counsel for Health Information Technology in the Office of the General Counsel, according to the report.

The ONC has had several other ONC leaders depart over the past year, according to Healthcare Informatics. Recent departures include:

•    Dough Fridsman, MD, PhD, ONC chief science officer
•    Judy Murphy, RN, ONC chief nursing officer
•    Sylvia Mathews Burwell, HHS secretary
•    Jacob Reider, MD, deputy national coordinator for health IT
