Newly rebranded Aspirus Iron River adopts new Epic EHR

Aspirus Iron River (Mich.) has undergone a name change and an update to its EHR system, according to Upper Michigans Source.

The hospital was formerly known as Northstar Health System. In June, it affiliated with Wausau, Wis.-based Aspirus.

Along with the new affiliation, Aspirus Iron River also adopted Epic's EHR, the same platform the rest of the Aspirus network uses, according to the report. "With this EMR, anything done here in Iron River, whether it's labs, X-rays, EKGs, doctor's notes; those are instantly available throughout the system," Connie Koutouzos, CEO of Aspirus Iron River, said in the report.
