Researchers are now warning that patients may be putting hospital networks at risk by posting their X-ray photos online, according to SC Network Security.
Even if the patient crops out personal data, the photo could disclose other information that could tip off cyberattackers, according to the article, which cited a Malwarebytes blog post.
Photos can reveal potential access points, disclose active user accounts and reveal other identifying characteristics of the server such as if it is web facing, public and if the sub domains are enumerated.
