House administration officials sent an email to lawmakers alerting them that hackers may have gained access to “limited personal information for House employees,” according to Politico, who obtained a copy of the email.
Potentially affected House employees include those who hold BlueCross BlueShield plans and are enrolled in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program CareFirst Health Maintenance Organization and the District of Columbia Health Link CareFirst, according to the report.
Cyberattackers accessed one of CareFirst’s databases, which included names, birthdates, emails, member identification numbers and usernames for CareFirst’s website.
