eClinicalWorks invests $30M to expand into India

eClinicalWorks is expanding its global footprint with plans to expand operations in India, reports The Hindu BusinessLine.

Aakash Shash, director of sales at eClinicalWorks said the company plans to spend $30 million in the next two quarters to build a new data center and support technology capabilities in India. Additionally, the company plans to hire at least 300 people in the next three months.

eClinicalWorks already has a presence in India, with approximately 1,000 employees. Now, the EHR vendor seeks to establish a secondary data center in India, providing cloud-based healthcare services. The company is also developing an app that will allow patients to search for nearby physicians, track their health records and make appointments.

Mr. Shah said the company plans to launch the app in January.
