Children's hospital in United Arab Emirates to adopt Cerner EHR

Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital, a pediatric hospital in the Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, has partnered with Cerner to implement its Millennium EHR.

The 200-bed hospital is the first dedicated children's hospital in the UAE, and it received investment and support to adopt the new EHR from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention. The ministry has worked with Cerner to implement clinical information systems in other facilities since 2008.

Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital seeks to become a "smart" hospital using medical equipment and technology specialized for pediatric patients.

"Ultimately, our alignment melds together the talent and resources of Al Jalila Children's, Cerner and MoHAP to inspire a culture of innovation in the health and care of the pediatric population," said Dr. Moza Ajaif Al Zaabi, CEO of Al Jalila Children's, in a statement.
